Canadian Valentine's Day cards!

I don't know why... but I laugh each time I see this.... well yeah,

I do know.... to be honest, so do my girlfriends!

Meat + Potato = My kind of guy.... metaphorically speaking that is.

Although... there certainly is a trend to eat meat.... pulled pork anybody?

Hockey + Beer! Can't get more Canadian than that?
Really! It's true!

Complaining about the weather I guess.... I couldn't make that into a Valentine's cards though....
not yet anyhow.

Everybody knows Number 99. If you don't.... you're not worthy...

I polled every guy I knew and they all liked this list but.... a BIG but.... there are a few dozen (hundred) other names I could have added....

I think I'll do a series of favourite hockey players. Who ARE the greatest hockey players of all time?

Introducing a Leonard Cohen card!

I've been working on the new addition to my Canadian Heroes Card Series.

The only musicians I've drawn so far are Neil Young, Mr. Dressup and The Friendly Giant....

and now, of course.... Leonard Cohen!

A custom illustration of Teddi!

I was honoured to be asked to donate a custom illustration for the silent auction of The Pet Trust Gala

a few weeks ago, in support of The Ontario Veterinary College.

Teddi's owner Cheryl won the commission and I got busy drawing.

Teddi is a 10 year old chocolate mini poodle, who loves his girly heart shaped pillow!

I can't decide which one I like best...

I really like drawing dogs and cats.

Jessie pussycat

My friend Angie's cat Jessie died recently.

It's always hard knowing what to say and do when a furry member of your family dies, so I did a drawing.

I wanted to celebrate Jessie's life..... all 17 years of it.... chasing foil balls, snoozing with Scout, her best furry friend and stealing Angie's earring's from her in the middle of the night.

My condolences Angie.

I'm donating a custom pet portrait to a good cause!

I'm honoured to be asked to donate a pet portrait for the Ontario Veterinary College fundraiser gala this Thursday, October 13. http://www.pettrust.ca/gala

I've designed a portrait of my own dog Poppy.... a scruffy terrier who does not enjoy sailing!

The winning bid will get a custom portrait of their pet, printed on nice thick paper and 12 note cards with envelopes.

I loveloveloved drawing her and am looking forward to drawing more furry creatures... or feathered... or fin... or imaginary!

I draw digitally so all I need is an email photo sent to me.... easy-peasie lemon-squeesie!

Good Luck at the gala.... I hope you raise loads of money for all our creatures great and small!

A letter from Plains Georgia!!

I was commissioned recently to design a custom card for

Rosalynn and Jimmy Carter's

65th wedding anniversary.

My friend Art Milnes had written a book about Jimmy Carter in Canada and asked me to design a special Canadian card for his friends in Plains, Georgia.

Finding a letter in your mailbox is wonderful, finding a letter from

Plains Georgia is extra-wonderful.

Congratulations to Rosalynn and Jimmy Carter.

I have a new t-shirt!

I did not plan on adding to the line of Conrad t-shirts.... but, sometimes things happen, that you have no control over.... not necessarily a bad thing.

So.... I'd like to introduce a new addition to the wonderful world of Conrad!

The new t-shirt is similar to the original, commissioned t-shirt. His suit is now orange and the type below says ExConrad....

I have become a Con-vert.

When I heard that Conrad was teaching his fellow inmates American History, politics, english and possibly latin.... ukulele.... and the piano, my heart melted a bit.

How wonderful!
